An Announcement from Susan
A transition at Rogan's List and honoring the life of Jimmy Carter
AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM SUSAN
As some of you know, I’ve been struggling with several health issues because of Long COVID. These have sapped my energy. I’m at a point where I need to clear my plate and remove the stress that I can from my life and focus on living the best life I can. I hope you understand. Stepping down from managing Rogan’s List is one of those things I’m choosing to let go.
I started what would become Rogan’s List two days after the 2016 election. I knew I had to do something. As a former debater, journalist, and librarian, I saw the rampant growth of non-reputable news sources and with my background I thought I could help wade through it and point out what was happening using quality news sources and showing folks steps they could take to counter what was happening in our government. Rogan’s List officially took shape, and we were off! I did the List alone for quite a while, but then realized it was not a sustainable business model. Through various means I amassed a group of trustworthy, dependable, dedicated contributors, many of whom are still with us. For that I am eternally grateful. We, not I, are a force to be reckoned with.
Being involved with all this over the last eight years has been an opportunity of a lifetime that I will always cherish. I’m elated that Joe Katz, who has been my #2 since the early days, as agreed to take over the List. I will remain as an occasional contributor. You will be in good hands.
A NOTE FROM JOE
I am so honored to be writing to you all as the new lead for Rogan’s List.
I want to take a brief moment to thank Susan. She’s founded the List, kept it going through thick and thin, through moments of national triumph and tragedy, oftentimes carrying the entire burden of getting each day’s issue produced on her own. She is also one of the most patient, most dedicated, most honorable, kindest and overall finest people I have ever been lucky enough to know. She will remain a contributor, mentor and a pillar of our team.
I’ve been proud to be a contributor and first mate on this ship during the first Trump and Biden administrations, so while the work ahead will be more frightening and more challenging Rogan’s List’s goals remain the same. Our crew of a dozen activists aims to provide you with well-sourced, well-curated actions on where you have the most impact in fighting the Trump and the right’s agenda and building a nation true to our most cherished values – every morning. Like all of you, we are uncertain of what lies ahead and we are preparing to make adjustments as necessary. But we will be here. As always, if you have questions, comments, feedback or suggestions, you can reach us via email at roganslisttips@gmail.com or in the replies.
As much as we all wish we were getting ready for a different sort of Inauguration Day, I remain optimistic that in the long run our vision of a free, democratic America truly committed to equality and justice for all, human rights and decency, and the tenets of our Constitution will prevail. And I am grateful to be in this fight with all of you.
With hope,
Joe
COMMEMORATE THE LIFE’S WORK OF JIMMY CARTER
The whole Rogan’s List team is heartbroken at the death of former President Jimmy Carter, a tremendous humanitarian and an example to us all. Among his many contributions to the world were his efforts to purge it of the Guinea worm, a parasite which causes excruciating pain in its victims. President Carter more than once commented he would like the Guinea worm to die before he did, and he came very close – the Carter Center’s work has helped reduce cases from 3.5 million in 1986 to just seven reported in 2024. In his memory, let’s help finish the job and consider a memorial contribution to the Carter Center’s Guinea Worm Eradication Program.
Thank you Susan for all you do.
Jimmy Carter was the first president I voted for. He was truly a great man we were lucky to have him. What I admired most about him was his dedication to his faith. He truly lived his Christian beliefs without imposing them on others. He saw the value of all lives and used his time on earth to make the world a better place,
Rest in peace President Carter and thank you for your service.
Thank you Susan for initiating Rogan’s list and maintaining this information distribution platform. What an accomplishment and a guiding light for the cause of democracy. Welcome Joe to this new position. Your leadership will be greatly needed and the guidance appreciated. I look forward to reaping the benefits of your wisdom. It’s a frightening view from our current situation as we are in the midst of an unprecedented (for the USA) autocratic regime. I don’t see how we can get through without developing coalitions of freedom fighters to waylay this horrid person who is scheduled for inauguration. We cannot sit quietly by without subversion. Good luck all.
