ABORTION ON THE BALLOT IN ARIZONA, MISSOURI
We've seen multiple developments this week in getting reproductive rights before the voters, with Arizona's Secretary of State certifying their abortion initiative had enough signatures to get on the ballot on Monday and Missouri's doing the same on Tuesday. There will now be at least eight states where we'll have a direct say on this central freedom in November, in addition to the White House and congressional races we need to win to stop Republican plans for a direct national ban or an effective one through the Comstock Act. ANTISEMITISM IN THE MONTANA SENATE RACE
Labor, veterans’ health care and public lands champion and key IRA vote Senator Jon Tester is facing a serious challenge for reelection in a seat that could decide the Senate - and his opponent, Minnesota billionaire Tim Sheehy has embraced dangerous and hateful tactics to try to defeat him. Both Sheehy and the county party in one of the largest communities in the states have posted antisemitic memes on social media and have ghosted Jewish leaders who tried to reach out to them about it. The Sheehy campaign has also hired a staffer with a long history of bigotry. We can't let these folks or the destruction they represent gain power. Let's help Tester defeat them. VOLUNTEER FOR VOTER PROTECTION
VoPro Pros is an all-volunteer, all-virtual organization whose mission is “to protect the right of every American to free and fair elections.” Their voter protection hotline provides assistance on all aspects of the voting process from registration through curing rejected ballots. With the 2024 election coming up they are looking for more volunteers to help staff the hotline, do research, and share information and materials. Let’s learn more about this important organization and consider volunteering.

Field Team 6, which is devoted to registering voters, is seeking those of us who write Korean and Vietnamese to write postcards encouraging people to register to vote. CAT FASHION SHOW FUNDRAISER FOR HARRIS-WALZ TOMORROW
Cat loving Facebook users are invited to be part of a cat fashion show for Harris-Walz. We can dress up our cats and enter them into the show which will be held on Facebook Live tomorrow, Friday, August 16 at 9 PM ET. This is a benefit to support the Harris-Walz campaign and donations will be received via Act Blue. We can learn more here.
