EXTREMISTS UP AND DOWN THE BALLOT
North Carolina features tight races all over the ballot this year – a scary state of affairs given the full slate of unhinged extremists the GOP is putting forward in this swing state. A recent poll by the progressive group Carolina Forward has Kamala tied with Trump 46-46; the Republican firm Cygnal found Trump up 47.2-44.1, within the margin of error. Republican gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson has a long history of promoting hate and conspiracy theories and was recently caught endorsing political violence while speaking in a church – he trails Democratic attorney general Josh Stein 46-36 in the former poll and 42.6-38.6 in the latter.  Attorney general candidate Rep. Dan Bishop is a Trump coup co-conspirator who has compared Trump’s felony convictions to Black people in the Jim Crow South – he trails Dem Rep. Jeff Jackson 42-40 in Carolina Forward and *leads* 41.7-37.8 in Cygnal. Michele Morrow, the GOP nominee for superintendent of public instruction, has repeatedly called for prominent Democrats to be executed – and last week was revealed to have taken part in the insurrection on January 6th and urged Trump to use the military to stay in power. She is down by just three points in one poll and leads by 4.5 in the other. North Carolina Democrats need our help to keep these folks far away from the reins of power. Multiple phonebanks are looking for volunteers in the afternoon hours next week – we can sign up to help here, here or here.TEXTBANKING FOR THE HOUSE THIS FALL
We’ve all seen too much already of what a Mike Johnson-led House of Representatives looks like, and his agenda in the event Republicans build more power in Washington could be devastating. In the wake of the Dobbs decision, Johnson backed revisiting Supreme Court decisions protecting the use of contraception and legalizing same-sex marriage, and he will assuredly will a rubber stamp for Project 2025. The DCCC will need textbankers in October to help flip key seats and turn Mike Johnson into the minority leader. Let’s sign up for a shift here.
BECOME A VOTING AMBASSADOR
Turnout the Vote is launching a program in five swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. They’re recruiting voting ambassadors to talk to friends and family about voting. No experience is necessary and you set your own hours. Some compensation is provided. If we live (or know people who live) in one of these states, let’s find out more about this program and see if we can take part or recommend others to sign up.

STATE-SPECIFIC ACTIONS
IA/ALL - ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ANTI-CHOICE JUDGE
Iowa’s near-total abortion ban went into effect at the end of last month, with Planned Parenthood reporting many patients didn’t even realize it was coming. This law moving forward was made possible by a 4-3 decision by the state supreme court - and David May, one of the justices in the majority, is up for a retention vote this fall. Reproductive rights activists in our state are urging their neighbors to vote no on retaining May to hold him accountable for stripping our rights away. Let’s be sure to vote against retaining May this November, and share on social media and with our networks this column explaining why he needs to go. (Folks outside the state can also share the case against May or consider a contibution to the Iowa Abortion Access Fund in his name.)
The postcards from the moms to get out the vote. The adds are to democrats i take it?
