THE CONVENTION IS HERE!
Today marks the beginning of the Democratic National Convention! We can find the official schedule here and watch through the DNC's own feed here or find other ways to watch here. Speakers tonight include President and Dr. Biden and Secretary Clinton. While we watch, let's be sure to check out volunteer opportunities with the Democrats and sign up here!
FAIR FIGHT WORKS FOR US – WE CAN WORK WITH THEM
Fair Fight, the group founded by Stacey Abrams, engages in voter mobilization in Georgia and around the country, and works to combat voter suppression. Let’s learn more and sign up here. (h/t CFAA)
DOUBLE CHECK AND VERIFY OUR VOTER REGISTRATION
The GOP vote suppressors are hard at work, targeting Democratic leaning precincts to challenge legitimate voter registrations and conduct mass purges of the voter rolls. Therefore, even if we are registered to vote, it’s a good idea to make sure that we are still registered. We can use sites like vote.gov or IWillVote.com to check our status, take a screenshot to take with us to the polls in case we need it. After the 90th day before the election, which has already passed, no registered voter can be removed from the lists of active voters, so this screenshot will be proof of registration. Let’s check our voter registration at vote.gov or IWillVote.com and make sure we are still registered and ready to vote, then share this information with our friends, and on social media.
WRITE POSTCARDS FOR SENATE AND CONGRESSIONAL RACES
Activate America is writing for various Senate and Congressional races in Arizona, California, Montana, Nevada, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. There are also campaigns for Spanish language postcards. We can learn more and sign up here. (h/t CFAA)
REMINDER TO FL TO VOTE BY MAIL
Voting by mail or absentee voting has gained popularity since the 1980s and is safe and secure. Postcards to Voters is currently writing postcards reminding Florida voters to register to vote by mail. If we’ve written for Postcards to Voters before or not, we can click here to help.
I must say I am so glad to see Sue Rogan and her List back online! We can get the same information here in three or four paragraphs while it seems other stackers (and they know who they are), with the exception exception of HCR, punctuate their (sometime) bloviated offerings to remind us we should become "paid subscribers." Thanks to the entire Rogan crew!
