THE CONVENTION IS HERE!
Today is the second day of the Democratic National Convention! We can find the official schedule here and watch through the DNC's own feed here. Speakers tonight include Former President Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff. While we watch, let's be sure to check out volunteer opportunities with the Democrats and sign up here!
POSTCARDING FOR SENATE AND CONGRESSIONAL RACES
Grassroots Democrats HQ is writing for various Senate and Congress races, as well as encouraging people to vote by mail. There are also campaigns for Spanish Postcards listed. We can choose who/what we want to write for. Let’s sign up here. (h/t CFAA)
VOLUNTEER TO BE A POLL WORKER AND HELP PREVENT VOTER SUPPRESSION
With less than 80 days until the election, GOP election suppression efforts are now in high gear, far better organized and better funded than they were in 2020. While Democratic legal teams are working hard to help protect our electoral process, there are ways we can help too. We can help make sure that all eligible voters who want to vote, get to vote and have their vote counted by volunteering to be poll workers. We can check out this US Gov. site for information on becoming poll workers in our communities. There we can find details about poll worker qualifications, training, pay and more, then sign up directly with our state or local election office.
REJECTING RACISM
TFG has once again made fomenting racial hatred the heart of his appeal, from questioning Kamala Harris’ identity to his central campaign promise of an inhumane and ruinous mass deportation plan. Defeating him is only part of the job – we as a nation also need to show we reject what he stands for. Showing Up For Racial Justice is working to organize white voters against Trump’s racism in this election. We can join them to phonebank on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays.
VOTE FROM ABROAD
There are nearly 3 million overseas Americans who could vote, yet very few do, and FVAP.gov has the numbers to prove it. But yes, American citizens abroad can vote, and there's a one-stop shop to help us do it. Vote From Abroad helps US citizens living abroad register to vote and request absentee ballots. Let’s check this out and share with friends and family who could use the information!
Ciao from Italy! Thanks for the shout out about Vote from Abroad!!
