If you’re hesitant about getting on the phones, there’s a great opportunity to help turn out voters with Black Voters Matter. Their text teams are gearing up for work every Tuesday to make sure everyone has the information they need to make their voices heard. Recent Indivisible campaigns have found neighbor-to-neighbor canvassing to be twice as effective as traditional canvassing. Now we can try this for ourselves and help get out the vote! Indivisible makes it simple and easy to do, giving us a brief list of Democratic neighbors to contact, a simple script to consult, some best practices to help us get started and a printable handout to leave with our neighbors. No need to worry about scheduling, as we can do this on our own time too! We can learn more here about Indivisible’s Neighbor to Neighbor canvassing project, sign up if we like and then share with our friends on social media.
HELP VOTER REGISTRATION IN HIGH SCHOOLS
“The Civics Center provides free training and easy-to-use resources that enable students, educators, and partners to run twice-yearly voter registration drives in high schools. In the fall, High School Voter Registration Week aligns with state registration deadlines in advance of Election Day. In the spring, Cap, Gown & Ballot encourages seniors to register before they graduate in the spring.” Let’s see how we can help. If we know a high school student who wants to get involved, they could get a $150 gift card when they help their school get ready to vote during High School Voter Registration Week starting September 23rd.
