HELP FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS
While not a GOTV item, we are all worried and concerned about the folks whose lives have been so terribly disrupted by Hurricane Helene. World Center Kitchen is there, of course and could use our support. Other needs are also great and if we are able and would like to support other Helene relief efforts on the ground, here is a list of other possibilities, compiled by Blue Ridge Public Radio.

VOTE WITHOUT FEAR
Some of us might feel pressured to vote in a certain way. "With the election for President coming up, we have been getting questions about voting - in particular, 'can my husband find out who I am voting for in the presidential election?' ...WHO you actually vote for on the ballot is not public information. You do not need to tell your spouse who you voted for, even if they ask. You can say, 'that’s between me and the Ballot Box.' Your right to vote is part of our civil liberties, and your vote is your own – that being said, do whatever you need to do to remain safe." Fresh Starts, a non-profit organization, has some tips for us to do just that. We can find out more, here: https://www.freshstartsregistry.com/vote-without-fear/
FREE PRINTABLE GOTV POSTERS
Promote the Vote provides free posters for download so anyone can spread the word and get out the vote! They have been doing so since 2020. Let’s check out and share this year’s offerings. (h/t Chop Wood Carry Water)
LET’S CHECK OUR VOTE-BY-MAIL STATUS
If we’re planning to vote by mail this year, let’s not make assumptions. This race is too close for unpleasant surprises. Let’s make sure that we’re ready and able to do so. We can look up the status of our mail-in ballot application by consulting this tool from Vote.org. This tool will also come in handy later, when we want to track our ballot!
CALIFORNIA IS THE KEY FOR THE HOUSE
The road to retaking the House may well run through California, where features six different fiercely competitive swing seats. While polling is showing positive signs for many of our Democratic challengers, there’s a lot of work ahead. With the Democrats at the top of the ticket expected to win easily, we need to make sure our voters know they have important ballots to cast. Let’s join Grassroots Democrats HQ’s Tuesday and Friday textbanks to folks in these key districts – we can sign up here.
Thank you for all your work! Can you correct the name of World Central Kitchen under the Help for Hurricane Victims section. It is written incorrectly as "World Center Kitchen". Thanks.
Thanks for the texting link. I really appreciate it 👍🏼💙
