TEXTING TOMORROW WITH UNITED WE DREAM
The team at United We Dream Action is reaching out to young people about the importance of protecting abortion access and rejecting Project 2025 enablers, part of their broader work as the largest immigrant youth-led network in the country. Let’s join them for a text bank tomorrow, Thursday at 7:30 PM ET here.
PHONE BANK WITH CENTER FOR COMMON GROUND
We know that phone banking can be intimidating, but it can also be a really rewarding experience. Plus, we really make a difference when we get a voter on the phone! Center for Common Ground which educates and empowers voters of color in voter suppression states, offers guided phone bank training almost every day of the week where we can learn how to call with a community of folks. It makes the process more fun and less intimidating! Let’s check it out and choose where we want to help.
PHONE BANK WITH PA DEMS
Pennsylvania is another essential state for a Dem win. PA Dems’ 2024 PA Victory is hosting phone banks daily through election day. Let’s sign up here.
KNOW YOUR VOTING RIGHTS
The ACLU has put together a quick quiz on what to do if our efforts to vote are challenged at the polls. Let’s make sure to review this and share it widely.
HELP PROTECT ABILITY TO VOTE
"Most organizers and activists focus on mobilizing voters to vote our way. Yet there’s another kind of volunteer work that is not so well known, but extremely important: protecting people’s ability to vote and to have their votes counted." “In many battleground states, Republican state legislatures and election officials are using unscrupulous tactics to suppress the vote. Since January 2021, according to the Brennan Center for Justice, GOP activists have filed nearly a half million voter challenges nationwide. Volunteers working with VoPro Pros are intent on defeating GOP voter suppression.” We can read more about this work here and sign up to help here.
PHONEBANK FOR BALLOT CURING
As this 2022 NPR report explains, hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots are often rejected, primarily because of minor errors made by voters. Many states allow voters to correct their mistakes so their votes can be counted. It’s called ballot curing. We can help voters cure their ballots by volunteering for a ballot-curing phone bank. Let’s sign up for a phonebank here.
