IF WE CAN, LET’S VOTE EARLY
Voters have already begun to cast votes in several states. About a dozen more states will be doing the same by mid-October. The importance of voting early cannot be emphasized enough. Whether it is by absentee ballot or in-person early voting, doing so is so much more convenient for us since we can schedule it to fit into our lives and allow time if any corrections are needed. In addition, we make it harder for MAGA to lie about "cheating on Election Day." We show strong compelling evidence of free and fair elections. It may actually end up helping more voters show up because when regular Democrat voters vote early, we fall off the lists to be contacted. Then campaigns and volunteers can focus on infrequent voters sooner. Because we can work smarter and save money, we can reach more infrequent voters and increase the vote. Let’s make a plan to vote early if we can.Â
TEXTBANK TUESDAYS WITH WORKING FAMILIES PARTY
The Working Families Party has proven a powerhouse in supporting progressive candidates and causes, and they have a great opportunity coming up for those of us who need a little break from phone banking. This Tuesday their weekly textbank will be focused on building a progressive base in critical swing states. Let’s sign up to join them here.

VOTING FOR MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS & THEIR FAMILIES
Though they have so much at stake, military voters turnout to vote at a rate that’s significantly lower than civilian voters. Military life should not be a barrier to voting. The Federal Voter Assistance Program has a helpful webpage to assist military voters and their families to exercise their franchise. Let’s share this information far and wide: https://www.fvap.gov/military-voter
WRITE LETTERS ON BROADWAY
Join members of the cast of Hamilton and volunteers from across the country on Monday, October 7, 8 – 9pm EDT for a letter writing party! These letters are part of The Big Send—Vote Forward's collective effort to write 10 million letters to voters this year. We’re writing letters and sending them between October 1 and October 29, to ensure they arrive when they’ll have the most impact on turnout. We can sign up for the Zoom call here.
You mention military voters, but you omitted abroad civilian voters! Please don't forget us, there are as many as 6.5 million US citizens outside of the US during elections, including students, professionals temporarily abroad, dual citizens and civilians who moved abroad because of a job or partner. We have the same voting rights as military and are covered by the same federal law, the Uniformed and Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act. Abroad civilians can go to votefromabroad.org or FVAP.gov to register and request an abroad ballot. Our ballots can come by email and they started going out on September 21--so we are already voting! Spread the word!
