Thank you as always. I was just in a chat with Ruth Ben-Ghiat's Substack group and a talking point by the right, which actually an old one, is we are a Republic and not a Democracy. Which opens the door to, we are not a Democracy, it's not in the Constitution, so we don't have to be one.
I like Heather Cox Richardson's reply to this one: saying we are a republic and not a democracy is like saying I have a Golden Retreiver and not a dog. At that point, they are grasping.
