#TESLATAKEDOWN WEEKEND 2
Unelected billionaire Elon Musk is seizing more and more power for himself, but the movement to fight back is in motion, and they aim to hit Elon where it hurts: his wealth. Last weekend protesters gathered at Tesla stores and charging stations nationwide in an effort to make the brand toxic, dragging down its stock price, and #SaveOurServices events on Wednesday did the same. Most of Musk’s wealth is tied up in Tesla stock, and their sales are already dropping. This weekend activists are launching a second round of #TeslaTakedown protests. If there’s one near us, let’s try to attend, and if not let’s consider signing up to host one in the next few days or in the future. We can find more information about the movement here and sign up for updates by texting MUSK to 51905.
PROTECT THE WISCONSIN SUPREME COURT FROM ELON MUSK
Wisconsin's upcoming election on April 1st will determine whether its state Supreme Court will have a Democratic or Republican-supported majority, and the race for the open seat is gaining national attention. The stakes are high, with reproductive rights, voting rights and organizing rights hanging in the balance - and now Elon Musk and his PAC are spending millions of dollars to support the hard right candidate for the open seat. Democrats in Wisconsin are supporting Susan Crawford, a circuit court judge with extensive legal experience who has placed an emphasis on fairness, impartiality and democracy. Let's encourage Wisconsinites to turn out and vote for Judge Crawford! We can:Join Field Team 6 this Sunday, 10-12pm Central in calling Wisconsin voters, helping them to register if needed and letting them know about this crucial State Supreme Court Election. We can also sign up to make calls with FT6 at the same time the next two Sundays here.

STOP AN OIL EXEC FROM LEADING THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT
Trump’s latest nomination to destroy the department they’ll lead to is Kathleen Sgamma, president of the Colorado-based oil industry trade group the Western Energy Alliance, who has been picked to be director of the Bureau of Land Management. The BLM is responsible for a quarter-billion acres of public land. Sgamma opposed Biden’s restrictions on oil drilling on public lands and putting her in this position will boost the Republican “drill, baby, drill” agenda. This will increase pollution, endanger ecosystems and animals, and fuel the climate crisis – encouraging continued reliance on oil as fuel and discouraging switching to greener forms of energy. Sgamma needs to be confirmed by the Senate to take over this position. Let’s ask our reps to oppose her. We can use language from these statements by the Center for Biological Diversity, Center for American Progress, and EarthJustice, or send this Resistbot petition by texting SIGN PMJVDL to 50409.
$100 BILLION TO DETAIN OUR NEIGHBORS?
Know Your Rights trainings have played a big part in slowing the deportation machine, but there is of course plenty of work to do in Washington. ICE simply does not have the resources for mass deportation on the scale that Trump, Tom Homan and Stephen Miller want. Congressional Republicans are looking to get it for them – the House GOP budget adds $110 billion in new funding for immigration enforcement over the next ten years, and the Senate GOP wants to give them $175 billion. This is still a fraction of the near-trillion dollar price tag Trump would need to deport a million people a year, but would double their current annual funding – while cutting Medicaid and SNAP at the same time. This is money that would go to breaking up families and shattering communities – despite their claims of targeting violent criminals, the number of detainees in ICE custody without a criminal conviction or even pending charges has skyrocketed under Trump. It will also burden our economy and sweep up American citizens. Let’s take a moment to reach out to our members of Congress and tell them we want to see them oppose more funding for mass deportation and mass detention camps. We can use language from this Resistbot petition or text SIGN PJIXGI to 50409 to send it directly.
PROTECT UNACCOMPANIED IMMIGRANT CHILDREN
On Tuesday, the Trump administration put a stop work order on legal services for unaccompanied immigrant children, removing federal aid from organizations who have been providing legal representation to minors in immigration court. Without federal funding, these organizations are at risk of shutting down, leaving children, many of whom are already survivors of trafficking and abuse, at risk of further trauma and exploitation. Let's call our MoCs and ask them to restore funding for unaccompanied minors - we can use language from this petition. For those of us with the means, let's also take this time to donate to organizations in our states that provide legal services to immigrant children, or to national organizations like Acacia Justice, the Florence Project, Kids in Need of Defense, and the National Immigrant Justice Center.

Today's wordle message See Love
Hmmm...I am as progressive as they get. Voted all D's, and truly believe that we are better than the current administration. I cannot stand Trump or Musk. However, I have owned Teslas since 2019. It was not a political statement but an environmental one. Musk had not yet shown himself to be who he truly is. I believe your encouragement to protest the brand to hurt Musk is misguided. Henry Ford was a Nazi, so let's protest Ford Motors. I contribute to ACLU and Public Citizen, and believe in their work. I request that you retract this misguided call to action.
