I called my (D) senators and politely expresses concerns as a registered Independent (have never voted R- I grew up with Nixon) about federal public health agencies being ordered not to communicate with the public. I also spoke with my new Rep Hurd's office about the same thing and had to explain it to them amidst the firehose of crap from trump/ musk. I always identify myself as a Ret. RN, MPH, and US Army Reserves medical officer, and that I am glad to have Hurd and no longer the execrable Boebert Here I am, in CD3.

Small correction on the item under "Trump is targeting trans people": the instruction is to thank the yeses on HR 28, but unless I'm misunderstanding something, I think we should be thanking the noes. The Advocates for Trans Equality say no on the companion senate bill.

I asked if Hurd was a MAGA and they said "he considers himself a Reagan Republican." We shall see.

That's correct! That was an error on my part, it's been updated! We are asking for NO votes on HR 28.
Thank you for giving us real actions to take. I live in a blue state, but these posts show me what else I can do to possibly make a difference.
