Please don’t leave the platform. Hopefully, principles will win out on this issue. Prof Dworkin wrote that hard cases make bad law. Here, competing values make for hard decisions. Or good values make for easy decisions, really. Let’s hope they are good choices that serve and preserve our integrity while honoring freedom of expression that does not advocate for hate, oppression, anarchy, or anything related to nazis.
If Substack does not get rid of Nazis, I will not be using the platform. I’m giving them a week. Luckily most if my things Lao come to my email too, I’m not supporting Nazis, fascists. Authoritarians, anti LGBQT people, anti-wonen’s rights people. Period.
We aren’t having “discussions” with Nazis on their “views.” This isn’t complicated. It’s hate, it is intimidation, bullying, call to violence and actual violence. I’m definitely not using a platform that allows these criminal haters to pontificate.
